Music Video Coursework Task
Duration of music video – 3 minutes
Sony Music – Give an explanation of who they
are
o Pitch idea – What the song is/ narrative /
explanation of how it is suitable for the audience
o Casting – auditions / audition application
/ audition process
o Storyboard – make this creative
o Peer assessment
- What do people think of your idea?
o Location report – Where are you going to film? Why
have you chosen this location? What’s good about it? What is negative about it?
Try to do a comparison between a good location and why you might consider. (Do
this as a video if you can, speaking to camera)
o Mise-en-scene consideration – what is
included in the background of your music video – ideas (mood board?)
o Risk assessment for filming – You will
need to create a sheet of paper that identifies all of the potential risks. (I
have an example I can show you for this)
o Call sheets – Times, contact numbers,
important information needed on the day of filming. This is given to
actors/actresses/crew so they know what the day schedule is like.
o Shot list – List of shots you will need to
film, with camera angles etc…(for directors use)
o Contingency plan – for filming day (bad
weather, illness to actors/actress) If there is a problem, you need to have a
back up plan.
o Email/Letter – rights to film, emails to say
it’s ok to film in these areas. The more you have the better, even parental
consent.
o Uploading of video clips – blog post
saying how you did this (e.g. naming the videos)
o Editing process – What did you use to edit?
o 1st draft of video – uploaded to
blog/YouTube
o What do people think of your video? (film this
as a video, record people discussing it)
o Final draft of music video – Due
o Mock up of Website design – Do a draft template
of the website, why will you do it like this
o Website created – About your *created*
artist/band. About their new song etc… You must have 2 tabs
